THYRISTER DEVICE DATA
Revision 7 • 670 pages • 1.5 lbs.

Thyristors are solid state switches which act as open circuits capable of withstanding the rated voltage until triggered. They include silicon controlled rectifies (SCRs), triacs, programmable unijunction transistors (PUT), silicon bilateral switches (SBS), and sidacs.

Thyristors characteristics make thyristors extremely useful in control applications. Compared to a mechanical switch, a thyristor has a very long service life and very fast turn on and turn off times. Because of their fast reaction times, regenerative action and low resistance once triggered, thyristors are useful as power controllers and transient overvoltage protectors, as well as simply turning devices on and off. Thyristors are used to control motors, incandescent lights and many other kinds of equipment.

This book includes Symbols & Terminology, Theory & Applications, Data Sheets, Surface Mount Package Information, etc.

RADIO FREQUENCY TRANSISTORS
Principles and Practical Applications
2nd edition • 299 pages • 1.2 lbs.

• Norm Dye and Heldge Granberg
• Written by experienced RF design engineers from Motorola's Semiconductors Product Section, this expanded edition has been updated and adds approx. 65 pages of new subject matter.

This book is a complete tool for successful RF circuit design. As cellular and satellite communications fields continue to expand, the need for RF circuit design grows. Radio Frequency Transistors contains a wealth of practical design information based on years of experience from authors who have worked with the leading manufacturers of RF components. The book focuses primarily on the more difficult area of high power transistor amplifier design and construction.

Contents include: functional characteristics for power transistors, low power transistors, linear modules, and power modules; RF transistor fundamentals; Transistor characteristics in specific combinations; Bandwidth considerations; Classes of opertion; Forms of modulation; Pulse mode; Reliability considerations; Construction techniques; Types of packages; Tips for systematic PC layout design; Mounting RF devices; RF modules; Power amplifier design; MOSFETs; Circuit testing; Types of low-pass filters; Power splitting and combining; LDMOS high power transistors; Small signal amplifier design; Design parameters; Biasing consideations; Power gain; Stability; Actual steps in low power amplifier design; and much more.

Practical design examples cover the frequency spectrum from 2 MHz to microwaves, with a special emphasis on the UHF frequencies where so much of today's new technologies are being implemented.
