A remote-cutoff amplifier pentode designed for use as a readio-frequency or intermediate-frequency amplifier.
Type 12BA6 is isimilar to the 12SK7 and, except for the heater ratings, is identical to the 6BD6.

Primarily used in video amplifiers for TVs. Features high transconductance, high power sensitivity, and low interelectrode capacitances. It can deliver relatively large output voltages with low values of plate-supply voltage and plate load resistance.

Designed to function as a combined detector, amplifier and automatic volume control tube.
